Feldenkrais
With Ruth Richmond
Thursday January 29th 6:30pm Room 309

Learn about the Feldenkrais method, which improves flexibility, coordination, and balance. You will experience a Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement lesson, which focuses on moving more easily and with less effort. We do small movements in such a way that your nervous system can recognize what works easier, and we also learn how to use more of your whole self. It is helpful to move out of old individual patterns that we are often not aware of. At the end of the lesson, most people are moving differently!
Ruth Richmond is an occupational therapist, currently working with children with coordination difficulties in the Burlington-Edison school district. She became interested in Feldenkrais after developing a frozen shoulder. She was making minimal improvements with traditional Physical therapy. Ruth had one session with a Feldenkrais practitioner and was amazed at the huge improvement in range of motion and also with the lack of pain during the session. She was hooked. She has also been teaching Feldenkrais classes at a variety of locations in the Skagit Valley for the last 10 years.
