The Annual Meeting of the Skagit Valley Food Co-op was held at 6:30pm on Wednesday May 11 at the Co-op Building.

11 people attended, including all 7 Board members and 2 staff people.

After a welcoming message from Board President Tom Theisen, election results were announced (see above).

General Manager Todd Wood presented his report on Co-op operations for the past year, followed by the Treasurer's report and summaries from the Community Relations, and Wage & Benefit Committees. There was also a special report on this year's Patronage Refunds, and a report of work-in-progress by the ad hoc Policy Review Committee.

Some highlights:

.. The Co-op reported Sales of over $12.7 million for the first time ever, and was profitable in 2010.
.. The Co-op completed major renovations to the Deli area, including a new juice bar, an expanded HOT/Salad bar, and new outdoor seating. The DELI prep area has been expanded, and the new kitchen is now in use. And, we are now making and selling our own ice cream!
.. For the first time ever, the Co-op will pay out Patronage refunds to qualified member-owners, a total of more than $145,000 for the 2010 year. Refunds should be available in late summer as either store credit at the register, or owners may request the refund as a check.
.. The 4% Friday program donated more than $23,000 to the community, and the Tokens For Tomorrow program donated $790 to charity, saving over 16,000 paper shopping bags.
- In spite of the difficult economic conditions, the Co-op earned enough profit (over 3% net profit) to pay profit-sharing to staff members in each of the 4 quarters of the year.

General interest comments were also offered by owners in attendance which were duly noted by the Board and the General Manager. Among the topics noted by owners were a) Parking at the Co-op, and b) Patronage Refunds.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:30pm.

ELECTION RESULTS

Pat Sneeringer and Mariana Foliart were re-elected without opposition to 3-year terms.

Staff Positions for 2011
Erin Treat was re-elected as the Staff Rep to the Board, 48 votes. Lisa Gilden received 36 votes.
Johnscott Lee begins year-3 of a 3-year term as the Staff Board Member.
