The
Cascadian Home Farm is nestled in the
foothills of the North Cascades. This 28-acre farm
in western Washington's Upper Skagit Valley is the
birthplace of the Cascadian FarmĀ® portfolio of
organic foods. And over 35 years after its
founding, the Cascadian Home Farm is still rooted
in to the organic values that they've always
believed in.
General Mills purchased Cascadian Farm in 1999 as part of its acquisition of Small Planet Foods, which is headquartered in Sedro-Woolley.
Cascadian Home Farm grows their crops and protects the local ecosystem using sustainable organic methods. Today their fields produce mostly fresh blueberries. They harvest their berries by hand, at the peak of ripeness and flavor, and run a small processing line to sort and pack them.
