New Honey Roasted Peanut Butter & Recipe!

Visit our Bulk Department and you’ll notice a new arrival: a Honey Roasted Peanut Butter grinder! In addition to being able to grind your own fresh almond and organic peanut butter, we now have a machine dedicated to grinding sweet-and-salty honey roasted peanuts. As part of our Co+op Basics program, this quality honey roasted peanut butter is on sale for $3.99 per lb!

Use this tasty nut butter to make cookies, sandwiches, smoothies, sauces, and soup. Read on for a recipe to make your own peanut butter-based protein bars using ingredients available in our Bulk Department. These gluten-free meal bars are packed with nutrients, including protein, fiber, and healthy oils for a tasty breakfast, dessert, or snack.

Honey Nut Protein Bars

Adapted from various online resources, recipe makes 12 bars


  • 1 cup natural Honey Roasted peanut butter
  • 1 cup protein powder: whey, hemp, or soy
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 cup uncooked gluten free oats
  • 2-5 tablespoons water, depending on texture
  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa (optional)
Directions: Stir room temperature peanut butter in a bowl together with other ingredients. Mixture should be slightly crumbly. Press into the bottom of a 9×9 tray and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes. Gently slice into 12 bars.
