2020 Board of Trustees Position Openings

Two Co-op Board of Trustee positions, each serving a three year term, will be decided by member ballot this spring. Interested candidates should submit a letter of intent to run to the newsletter editor of The Natural Enquirer by Friday, February 21, 2020. Letters may be submitted by email to or by regular mail to Attention: Newsletter Editor, Co-op, 202 So 1st Street, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.

As part of the letter of intent, all candidates should answer these questions (please keep letters to 400 words or less):

1. Why would you like to serve on the Board of Directors?

2. As a Board member, how would you strengthen the coop’s connection to our community?

3. What do you see as the challenge(s) facing the co-op, now and in the future? How should the board address this? What would your role be in addressing this issue?

4. What skill or experience do you bring to the Board that you believe will directly contribute to the mission of the Skagit Valley Food Co-op and to facing our future challenges?

To run for the Board, a person must be an active member (which is defined by the by-laws as having “met the requirements of application [to be a Co-op member] . . .; is current in payment of fees; has made a purchase at the Co-op within the last twelve months; and has provided the Co-op with a current address”). Everyone is eligible to become a Co-op member.
