3rd Quarter Tokens for Tomorrow Recipients at Skagit Valley Food Co-op

Each quarter, Skagit Valley Food Co-op selects four Tokens for Tomorrow recipients. With Tokens for Tomorrow, every time you bring in a reusable shopping bag, we honor your commitment to reducing waste with a token worth 5¢ to give to Neighbors in Need Food Bank or one of four other local organizations doing great things for our community. Check out 2018’s 3rd Quarter Tokens for Tomorrow Recipients:

LaConner Sunrise Food Bank

The La Conner Sunrise Food Bank provides supplemental food to individuals and families who find themselves in need of such assistance. Sunrise Food Bank operates totally with volunteers, and it currently distributes food each week to at least 90 families.

Concrete Farm to School Program

Concrete School District’s Farm to School Program is a United General Community Health Outreach Program. The mission of Concrete Farm to School is to build resilient students and families by providing access to healthy local foods, nutrition and culinary education, and hands-on gardening activities in the cafeteria, classroom, and community.

Mt. Baker-Fidalgo Youth Symphony

Fidalgo Youth Symphony (FYS) is a nonprofit organization established in 1995. FYS offers orchestral training and experience for talented young musicians in Northwest Washington. It consists of Sinfonette, Junior and Youth Symphonies. The groups meet for rehearsal weekly on Thursdays during the academic year and perform the following concerts: Fall, Holiday, Spring, and Season Finale.

Foundation for Academic Endeavors

The Foundation for Academic Endeavors’s mission is to provide academic experiences through broad community support for children and their families who are limited by factors, such as income, eduction, and minority status.

The Foundation for Academic Endeavors has committed to working together with the disadvantaged communities in Skagit Valley, and has set its vision “to create opportunities for academic growth for low-income families from all language groups, all ages, all religions who would benefit from academic companionship, including but not limited to the following: Enrichment Opportunities, Academic programs for children, Adult Education, and Community Partnerships.”
