Shop 4% Friday on December 28th to Support Community Action Food Distribution Center

Skagit Valley Food Co-op’s 4% Friday Community Shopping Day is one of the many ways we like to give back to the community, and we couldn’t do it without you! 4% Friday recipients are given 4% of the day’s sales at the Co-op, so the more you shop, the more you give back! On Friday, December 28th, 4% of sales will go to support the Community Action Food Distribution Center.

Community Action of Skagit County serves low-income people throughout Skagit County. They offer over 20 core programs to low-income community members, including access to education, housing assistance and basic needs.

How does Community Action Food Distribution Center plan to use its 4% Friday funds?

Funds raised will go toward purchasing kid-friendly food for weekend backpack food for kids in elementary schools in Mount Vernon, Burlington and Concrete. They will also support the development of a simple on-demand ordering system so programs can get food that is familiar to the kids served. The goal is to expand our operations to supply all elementary schools in Burlington and Concrete, as well as more schools in Mount Vernon.
