POP! Fun Party Bubblers at Fun Party Prices

Pop! It’s the joyous sound of celebration when you uncork a bottle of bubbly. And at under $10 a “pop!”, the sound is even sweeter. It’s always nice to have extra bottles on hand this time of year to welcome unexpected guests or to pour a grown-up orange juice while the kiddos go bananas over their gifts. This week we’ve got two effervescent sparklers that know how to party.

Vega Medien Brut
Producer: Union Vinicola Del Este S.I.
Varietal: 90% Macabeo, 10% Chardonnay
Region: Valencia, Spain
Price: $6.99

This Spanish Cava is a Wine Enthusiast Best Buy with brilliant, fine bubbles that will encourage you to pour another glass. And then another. (These are the holidays after all.) It has intense aromas of apple, pear, and lime. It’s refreshing on the tongue with a long and elegant floral taste, an ideal pairing with fish, seafood, and rice.

Montmartre NV Brut
Producer: Montmartre
Varietal: 100% Ugni Blanc
Region: Southwest France
Price: $8.99

Montmartre was once the exuberant, lively entertainment capital of Europe, home to a community of famous painters, poets, musicians and dancers. The Moulin Rouge cabaret and artists such as Picasso and van Gogh frequented the region. The Montmartre Brut is a vibrant representation of the area and its eclectic community, with fresh fruity aromas and bubbles that tingle on the tongue and tantalize the palate. It’s a sparkling wine that can dazzle as an aperitif or add a lot of life to the holiday party.
