Shop 4% Friday on August 25, 2017 to Give Back to Secret Harbor

The Co-op’s 4% Friday Community Shopping Day is an easy way you can help give back to the community! We donate 4% of the day’s sales to recipients, so the more you get, the more you give! On Friday, August 25th, 4% of sales will go to Secret Harbor. For nearly 70 years, Secret Harbor has been serving young people in Skagit, Snohomish, King, Whatcom and Island Counties who have experienced trauma due to abuse and neglect. Their mission is to save children and youth in crisis by building healthy relationships, promoting support, and developing successful connections to families and communities. As a non-profit organization, they offer community-based residential treatment, therapeutic foster care and in-home family support services.

How does Secret Harbor plan to use its 4% Friday funds?

Kids at Secret Harbor have unique, and extensive needs far beyond what the State pays for. To make sure that youth in our care are provided with everything they need to succeed, we’ve established the KIDS Fund, which is how the 4% Friday funds will be used. The KIDS Fund helps provide kids with what they need to meet their treatment goals, fit in at home, at school, or in the community. These needs range from clothing to summer camp to everything in between. The KIDS Fund also meets the special needs of individual children, sometimes paying for YMCA or Boys & Girls Club memberships, eyeglasses, dental care, school fees, or sports participation and equipment costs.
