Co-op Brew Corner – Catch the Chill

After a venerable 12+ year run, our beer cooler quit. Our response? We got a new one. Why this matters to you? More cold drinks. Mosey on by and check out our new and improved Beer, Cider & Wine Cooler. We’ve added space for a dozen types of chilled white and sparkling wines; as well as room for more local and imported brews of all shades and stripes.

Traverse Red India Pale Ale (Seasonal)

Boundary Bay Brewing of Bellingham WA ~ 6% alcohol by volume ~ 60 IBU – $9.99 per 6-pk, $2.49 per 12 oz can. This year Boundary Bay has switched up its seasonal “Traverse” offering from a red ale to an India pale ale, with a burst of fresh Citra and Simcoe hops, and a smooth Copeland malt base made locally by Skagit Valley Malting. This medium bodied IPA is an ideal refreshment for outdoor activities, as well as good old fashioned summertime porch sitting. Pair it with: roasted red pepper nachos, burgers, or grilled cheese.

Traverse IPA is brewed to commemorate the Bellingham Traverse, an annual relay race that celebrates the journey of wild salmon. Families, friends and local companies form Chinook (solo), Coho (tandem) and CHUM (relay teams) to run, bike and paddle through Bellingham’s scenic parks, winding trails and open waterways. Stay tuned for the 16th annual Traverse festivities on Saturday, September 16th, 2017.

Heyzeus Lager

Melvin Brewing of Alpine/Jackson Hole, WY ~ 5.2% alcohol by volume ~ low IBU – $9.99 per 6-pk; $2.49 per 12 oz can. A boldly embossed can from a brewery well known for its hopped up India Pale Ales, Heyzeus is a crisp and refreshing Mexican style lager. While their brewpub opened earlier in June, locals eagerly await the opening of a new Melvin brewing facility in Bellingham.

Pair Heyzeus with classic street food: carnitas, rolled tacos, quesadillas, hot dogs and more. Listen to the sound of Heyzeus’ mariachi Zeppelin cover band, Martillo de los Dioses, they are breaking down walls in craft beer. Click here for the link to Melvin’s specially selected music Heyzeus Playlist.

Additional fresh offerings include gluten free ciders and brews from Anthem, Atlas, Portland Cider, Seattle Cider, Tieton Ciderworks, Ghostfish Brewing, and more! Plus, now we have more space to offer new items from Ecliptic Brewing, Georgetown Brewing, Fort George, and so much more!
