Many beer fans enjoy celebrating with wax-dipped, bourbon barrel aged ales. These rare ales are limited batch releases. Choose from local favorites like Kulshan Brewing’s Shukshan barrel aged Russian Imperial Stout, Fremont Brewing’s B-Bomb, and Deschutes’ Abyss, to name a few. The Co-op also stocks world-reknown Belgian and British classics, including: Lindeman’s Kriek, Framboise, Pomme, Peche or (brand new!) Strawberry wild ale.

Looking for gluten free options? Try a bottle of Bellingham-based Honeymoon Wassail Mead, a honey wine spiced with clove, star anise and nutmeg. The Co-op also stocks a number of select, locally made hard apple and pear ciders, including Tieton ciders and Snowdrift’s Single Varietal Seckel Perry.

Samuel Smith Organic Gift Box

An elegant and traditional choice, this gift set features a Victorian pint (18.7 oz or 550 ml) of each of three, USDA Certified Organic brews: Organic Lager, Organic Chocolate Stout and Organic Perry, a naturally gluten free sparkling pear cider. It also includes an authentic Samuel Smith pint glass, two “Rose of Yorkshire” coasters and a brochure with information about the world’s classic brewing styles. Their new gift set is 100% organic and contains a range of brew styles:

Pure Brewed Organic Lager

~ 5% alcohol by volume ~ 25 IBU – Lightly kilned organic lager malts from the UK and Vienna form the base of this bright straw-gold colored brew. Gently herbal organic hops join in to create a well balanced and smooth lager. It makes a fine choice for fans of crisp, less bitter brews. Pair it with: cheese plates, roasted meats or chilled seafood.

Organic Chocolate Stout

~ 5% alcohol by volume ~ 28 IBU – Brewers at Samuel Smith’s use only the finest organic Belgian chocolate to create a stout is aromatic and deeply flavorful. Roasted malts meet the earthy spice of chocolate. Try making a beer float: add a scoop of the Co-op’s own organic Vanilla ice cream. Pair it with: smoked pork, ice cream desserts, spicy Mexican food, or simple buttered toast.

Organic Perry Cider

~ 5% alcohol by volume – Smooth and crisp, this festive cider carries the flavor of ripe pears. The hard cider is made in a cold fermentation process with a wine yeast to allow the delicate pear aroma to shine. Clear pale straw colored, it’s refreshing and light. Pair it with: blue cheese, sweet potato dishes, or ginger bread.
