Skagit Brew Corner: Not Too Early for Bad Santa

badsantaIt doesn’t matter if you’ve been naughty or nice… put Bad Santa Ale on your list. Available now in the Co-op’s beer aisle, Bad Santa is a seasonal offering from Pelican Pub & Brewery in Pacific City, Oregon.

Bad Santa pours one of the biggest heads I’ve ever seen. Thick and frothy, this tan “cap” on this brew is an perfectly ominous sign of what’s to come. Take a sip and enjoy the copious amounts of spiced earthy Fuggle hops that send this ale into the category of black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale. It has bold and bitter flavors from deep toasted grain malt. Pair it with spicy foods, or the hearty flavors of roasted meats.

Bad Santa Cascadian Dark Ale is 6.7 % alcohol by volume and packs 70 IBU (International Bitterness Units). Available for a limited time only!

Savor the craftsmanship inherent in this ale, brewed and bottled by one of America’s most acclaimed new breweries. Pelican Brewing was awarded “Best Large Brewpub and Large Brewpub Brewer of the Year”, at the 2013 Great American Beer Festival. Pelican’s Silverspot IPA and Tsunami Stout were also award-winners at the festival. Try them for yourself.
