Food and Health

Your Co-op is proud to serve the community by providing a full-service selection of natural and organically grown foods, locally produced items, green goods, products for sustainable living, and dietary alternatives that contribute to better health. All the products we carry in our store must meet four out of five criteria:
- no harmful preservatives
- no artificial flavors
- no artificial colors
- no refined sugars
- quality at the lowest possible price

The four-out-of-five criteria is also called the “Ben and Jerry’s Clause”, which allows us to make choices that meet the demands of our customers as well as upholding our standards of product integrity.

In 2008 the Co-op made the decision to stop carrying the few products on our shelves which contained High Fructose Corn Syrup. We believe this decision supports our product buying guidelines.
