12:30 Network Chiropractic with Jay Goodwin DC

As a Skagit Valley food co-op member, you’re probably aware of the wisdom of choosing healthy foods, and that your decision to spend the extra time and money to buy and prepare quality whole foods can be a very important step to creating a healthy lifestyle. You’re probably also aware of the importance of exercise in your life, and make the effort to be sure that you get at least some exercise, or perhaps spend a number of hours each week dedicated to one or more forms of quality exercise. You value your health, or would not be taking such extra steps to maintain and even enhance your health. What if there were some other factor that prevented you from digesting quality food and turning it into healthy tissue? What if the same problem could actually make exercise damaging instead of strengthening?

Chiropractic is the healing art and science that has pioneered the understanding that a properly aligned, therefore fully functional, human structure is essential in human health. The core of each human being’s structure is the spinal column, which houses the spinal cord. The spinal cord is the primary communication link between the brain and the body, thus body’s central communication network. Problems with proper alignment of spinal column can create direct interference with your body’s ability to work the way it is designed to work, such as digesting food or being able to walk, stretch, work with weights, etc. in a way that strengthens and not injures you.

You are invited to a brief yet compelling discussion of how to improve your own ability to become aware of proper, healthy function in your spinal column/structure. You will learn how to assess your own posture, and ease of breathing; and to be able to understand if these important gauges are informing you that your capacity to be healthy is strong, or needs improvement.

Jay Goodwin, DC has practiced restorative and wellness chiropractic procedures for over 30 years. He uses gentle techniques focused on helping practice members regain the ability to move with ease; open their spines, hearts and lives; and live with confidence in their own ability to heal. He has been frequently heard to inform them, “if you are still moving and breathing, there is already abundance of hope and possibility. Don’t underestimate your own internal strengths.

1pm Hypnotherapy with Kathleen Boehm

Hypnotherapy is 100% natural. It is an integrative therapeutic tool used to transform, heal and help you create the life you desire. It promotes natural healing and closure of unresolved past issues and invites new healthy responses: physically, new attitudes, perspectives and behaviors into your current life choices. It does this by tapping into your own natural resources.

Specialized techniques of guided visualization are designed to promote healing in all areas of your life and to facilitate healing and successful accomplishment of your therapeutic goals

Hypnosis is an intentionally induced state resembling sleep. It is a natural yet altered state, characterized by a more heightened responsiveness to suggestion, while selective thinking is maintained. During hypnosis, your body relaxes and your thoughts become more focused. Like other relaxation techniques, hypnosis lowers blood pressure and heart rate, and changes certain types of brain wave activity.

When some event happens to us, consciously or subconsciously, we form a belief about it-then an emotion-resulting in an action/response. Each time something similar happens, our physical and emotional reactions attached to the memory are repeated. In some cases these reactions are unhealthy behavior and a hypnotherapist can lead you to replace unhealthy behaviors with new, healthier ones

Kathleen Boehm R.N., CMS-Cht, BHE owner of Puget Sound Hypnotherapy uses advanced hypnotherapy techniques to help clients to achieve physical, mental and spiritual healing and balance.

Hypnotherapy helps you achieve physical, mental and spiritual healing and balance. Its applications are almost unlimited. We simply help guide you to what is found naturally within. Hypnotherapy helps to reinforce the positive, constructive ways which lead to better lives and thought processes.
