Cheese Whisperer: Oak Smoked Cheddar

A new flavor-packed arrival to our Specialty Cheese Island: Westminster’s Oak Smoked Cheddar. Now on sale, 7oz for $5.99 each.

This delicious cheese is gluten-free, protein-packed, and made from vegetarian rennet and rBST-free, pasteurized cow’s milk. Aged for over 12 months, and handcrafted in the British Isles, this mature white cheddar is naturally smoked over oak chips for three to four hours to impart a distinctive oak-smoked flavor. The result is a buttery rich, but not overly smokey taste. The cheese retains its creamy texture and picks up delicate hints of smoke.

Slice this cheddar for sandwiches, cheese plates, burgers, or nachos. Pair it with apple or pear cider. Wine drinkers will find a fine match for the smokey flavors of Westminster’s Oak cheddar in a Zinfandel or Malbec red wine.
