Fall in Love with Montamoré

Check out a new arrival at the Co-op’s Specialty Cheese Island: Montamoré from the Sartori Company. Made in Wisconsin from pasteurized, non-rBST treated cow’s milk, Montamoré transcends cheese styles: it contains characteristics of aged cheddar and richness of a double cream gouda.

This delighftul cheese has a semi-firm, creamy texture and is aged for a pleasant tang. With slight hints of sweetness and fruit, Montamoré is named with affection for the Dolomite Mountains that tower above the Sartori family’s hometown of Valdastico, Italy. Montamoré has an incredible flavor that can be enjoyed simply on a cheese board. Or try shredding Montamoré as a topping for pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables. Pair this cheese with dried pineapple, milk chocolate, and spiced pecans. Serve Montamoré with a light Italian red wine or Chardonnay, for beer fans try a porter, stout, or balanced pale ale. Now on sale: Montamoré cheese, 7 oz. wedges for $3.99 each!
