The Cheese Whisperer: Do Fondue for the Holidays

fondueFew food experiences are an intimate and fun as fondue. This season share a slow heated pot of fondue with friends and family. Fondue is a traditional dish consisting of melted cheese, wine and spices, in which bread cubes and fruit are dipped. The result is an oozy delicious cheese sauce and crusty bread goodness.

Sometimes it can be difficult to find just the right blend of cheese, but now it’s easy with Emmi’s authentic Swiss fondue kits: available in Original, Appenzeller or Gorgonzola flavor. The trick to coaxing a perfect fondue is the right combination of spices, cheese and wine and maintaining an even and not-too hot temperature. Be careful to heat your fondue mix, stirring frequently, over low to medium heat until smooth. Then test it by dipping a cube of bread on a fork. The fondue should have a light, stringy texture with a rich flavor. For a twist on the original flavor add a cup of roasted chopped tomatoes or peppers or your favorite blend of fresh herbs.

Brighten your holiday season with these fun and classic kits. Regularly $16.99 each, these high quality ready-to-heat fondues are now on sale for only $11.99!
