Festive Fennel ‘n’ Fig Ice Cream

We welcome the seasonal return of one of the Co-op’s most popular handmade ice cream flavors: Fennel ‘n’ Fig.

A favorite of customers and staff alike, Fennel ‘n’ Fig is based on earthy spice and sweet fruit in a classic vanilla flavor. Here’s how the magic happens: we begin with a base of vanilla ice cream then add organic fennel-infused cream, chewy diced dried organic black mission figs, and whole fennel seeds.

Fennel n’ Fig captures the earthy sweetness of black mission figs and the spicy licorice bite of fennel. We begin with a base of our handmade small-batch Vanilla ice cream, then add fennel-infused cream, chewy bits of fig, and whole fennel seeds. The result is a complex, but not overly sweet treat, with flavors of toasted licorice, caramel, and plum.

Try this (naturally gluten-free) autumnal treat with your favorite cobblers, cookies, pies, tarts, and pastries. Add a scoop to a Co-op fresh baked good for a twist on the classic cake and ice cream pairing.

The Co-op offers a rotating selection of small-batch, handmade ice cream throughout the year. We use only locally sourced cream, eggs, and milk, and fresh, local ingredients when available to make our quality handmade ice cream.

Available by the scoop, cup, cone or pint-to-go in the Co-op and at C-SQUARE – stop in and try some of our CONES handmade ice cream today!
