What’s Dippin’ in the Well: Spice & Nog

November is no time to pass up ice cream. Especially when it’s made fresh in small batches with organic ingredients, just like we do here at the Co-op. Enliven your senses with cool weather seasonal flavors at our Deli and C•SQUARE’s retail outlet CONES:

  • Fig ‘n’ Fennel — who said an ice cream can’t be chewy and spicy? We take the intense, earthy flavor of organic, dried black mission figs, and combine it with the anise-like taste of whole fennel seeds and fennel-infused cream.  A favorite of customers, Mount Vernon’s mayor, and staff alike, Fennel ‘n’ Fig captures the caramel-like sweetness of black mission figs and the spicy licorice bite of fennel. The result is a complex, but not overly sweet treat, with flavors of toasted licorice, caramel, and plum.
  • Eggnog — deceptively simple and smooth as satin, our Eggnog ice cream starts with our Organic Valley sweet cream base with a nutmeg finish.

conesTry these naturally gluten-free autumnal treats with your favorite cobblers, cookies, pies, tarts, and pastries. Add a scoop to a Co-op fresh baked good,  such as our cookies, muffins, or pastries, for a twist on the classic cake and ice cream pairing.

The Co-op offers a rotating selection of organic, handmade ice cream throughout the year. In addition to classic Chocolate and Vanilla, we’re scooping a variety of flavors, including (but not limited to): Coffee, Chocolate Peanut Butter Caramel, and Cherry Chocolate Chunk, as well as dairy-free sorbets.

We use only locally sourced cream, eggs, and milk. We use fresh, local ingredients when available to make our quality organic ice cream. Available by the scoop, cup, cone, milkshake, or pint – stop by the Co-op Deli or CONES to try some organic, handmade ice cream today!
